Does Kenny Lofton And Bernie Williams Deserve To Be Hall Of Famers

When it comes to the Baseball Hall Of Fame two players always come to my mind. Bernie Williams and Kenny Lofton both were very good players, but may never get in the Hall. Many people why this happens as both players had good stats, but when it comes to the Hall Of Fame they fell short. Does this mean they are not worthy? No far from it. Let's take a look at why they fell short today.

Both were multiple times All-Stars and won numerous Gold gloves in the process. Defensively, both players saved numerous runs for their respected teams. Talent level was there for both players without na doubt. So what is preventing them from getting in the hall of fame.

Stats play a big part and neither player reach the numbers they needed to get in, but there is more to the story then just numbers. Many times it comes down to being in the right place at the right time. For Williams and Lofton they were on the ballot when there were many good players of there skill level or better. This limited the vote that they got, but it's part of the process.

Even though Williams or Lofton may never seen the Hall Of Fame it doesn't diminish from what they gave to baseball and their many fans. Watching Lofton and Williams was a joy. It's too bad that there hard work wasn't rewarded with a Hall Of Fame spot. It happens and they are added to the list of players who almost made it.

Will The Brewers Finish Higher Than The Predictions?

The Milwaukee Brewers the last few years have been the model of consistency. Each year making a respectable showing many times winning the division outright. Fast forward to 2024 and it seems all the hard work the Brewers have done is now be taken granted for these days. Why is is that? Let's take a closer look at Milwaukee in 2024.

I can understand why everyone believes Milwaukee will struggling to be a team about the .500 level. They traded away Corbin Burnes and Brandon Woodruff is gone for the season and Devin Williams will be out extended time. These are very good reasons to think Milwaukee will struggle all season long. I think it will not be as bad as people may think.

Devin Williams will be out around 3 to 4 months and then he will be back. The bullpen Milwaukee has right now should be able to hold it together until he gets back. The starting pitching is something that worries me a little. Once you get past Freddy Peralta it really gets sketchy.

There are guys who have pitched for other teams were brought in and a few young arms also will be sprinkled in as well. Milwaukee has been known to get the most out of their pitchers and 2024 won't be any different as well. As far as scoring Milwaukee has plenty of youth and veterans to add punch to the lineup. Toss in Gary Sanchez and Rhys Hoskins and the Brewers should be able to score runs.

I think Milwaukee will surprise a lot of people in 2024 and be contending again for a playoff berth or division title. Milwaukee loves winning the division, so do not count them out for that either.

MLB 2023 Season Preview Buckle Up The Ride Will Be Wild

Every year it seems MLB seasons get wilder and wilder in the 2023 season promises to be just as crazy. We have the New York Yankees and the New York Mets as two of the better teams in Major League Baseball, but that does not guarantee any things these days. It seems there always is a team that comes out of left field that no one really considered and that could happen again this year.

The New York Mets are loaded this season, but can they put it all together is the question. Sometimes getting all the pieces to fit into place can take some time. The San Diego Padres are another team that has a very potent lineup that could give teams a lot of problems. Then you head over to the American League East and all of those teams are good and getting better it seems. This is why it is hard to handicap a winner in the 2023 MLB season.

Hold on to your hats this season is going to be wild. There will be plenty of drama along with good pitching and defensive gems to see. Who is standing at the end of this race is hard to predict. It will be fun and exciting to see who is left standing at the end of this journey.

Brewers Going Down On The Farm

As the Brewers baseball faithful watch, all MLB teams sign players Milwaukee sits by the wayside with their wallets zipped up tightly. If you are waiting for the Brewers to sign a big name to a big contract you might as well wait for your lottery ticket to hit as well. Milwaukee is not going to be a spender in free agency this off-season. They will be going farming in 2023 to fill out the Brewers roster.

What is farming you may ask? It’s simply relying on the Minor Leagues to fill out your roster. Milwaukee has some talent they have been grooming for the last few years. Those are the players that Milwaukee will be counting on to lead them to the playoffs in 2023. Many Brewers fans may not have heard of these players, but if they perform well Milwaukee would have made the correct decision.

Was this the right decision for Milwaukee and its fans? I guess only time will tell if it was a good decision. Good decision or bad Brewers fans should be used to ownership not spending a lot of money in free agency. Maybe this one time it will work out, but only time will tell.

Aaron Judge Betting On Himself Turns Down 230 Million Dollar Contract Extension From Yankees

Aaron Judge was hoping for a contract extension getting done before the season got started, but it did not happen. The Yankees offered around 230 million dollars, but apparently Judge was looking for more. Judge is betting on himself and he could win out or lose out on alot of money and this is why.

Judge is a talented player and has proved to be a very good hitter and outfielder for the Yankees. The problem is he has had a history on injuries throughout his career as well. If he gets hurt again this year he may find it tough to get an offer like the Yankees offered him. The Yankees outfielder is betting on himself to stay healthy and have a great season to get top dollar. Thats a risky bet in my opinion. When you get a chance to get good money you take it when it is offered.

I can understand what Judge is doing and it may work out for him. It could also go south for him as well. I guess we will have to wait and see how this all plays out in the end. The Yankees could decide to save the money and go in a different direction or offer less if Judge has a subpar season in 2022 or is injured.

The 2022 MLB Season Could Be A Wild One

Baseball is back and I think 2022 will be one wild season. There are so many storylines Baseball Blogging Network will be following this season. New York will be a battle this season as both The Mets and The Yankees want top be called King of New York. Will be interesting to see how that plays out this season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers keep adding to their impressive lineup and they have to be one of the favorites to win the World Series this season. Will the Milwaukee Brewers finally make it to the Big Game? They have the pitching to do it, but will the hitting come along as well. We will have to wait and see how it works out for them.

Justin Verlander should be back this season and how about the DH. Will the DH make a real difference this season? There are so many teams that if they get hot at the right time could be a October surprise for the Dodgers or anyone else. This 2022 should be fun to watch so pull up a seat and enjoy the fun.

Ted Simmons One Player People Forget About Behind The Plate

Here as Baseball Blogging Network, we try to give guys some love people sometimes overlook or forget about. People know I love Milwaukee Brewers players and one guy often overlooked is Ted Simmons. When you talk about great catchers names like Berra, Bench, and Mike Pizza are mentioned, but you will be hard-pressed to find someone to name Ted Simmons. Why isn't Ted Simmons named more when you talk about catchers. Let's take a look at Ted Simmons and his career and see what he accomplished.

Ted Simmons was a Silver Slugger winner and an 8-time All-Star along with finally getting elected into the Hall Of Fame in 2020 by the veteran's committee. Simmons played a total of 21 years which consisted of 13 in St. Louis, 5 in Milwaukee, and 3 with the Atlanta Braves. During his career, he had some impressive numbers for a catcher that many people seem to dismiss.

Six times he hit 20 or more home runs and three times he hit 100 or more RBI's in a season. He played 2,456 games and garnered 2,472 hits and 8 times he batted .300 or better in a season. Simmons numbers were very consistent across the board and was a very good defensive catcher. Being a switch hitter also made him a very dangerous hitter and a guy you could play against anyone. His 182 switch-hitting home runs rank #1 in the National League.

Ted Simmons may not be a household name to many, but during his time in the MLB he was a gritty tough ballplayer that you could count on day after day. He gave you everything he had and now he is in the Hall Of Fame. Well deserved for a guy who played 21 years in Major League Baseball.

Can Baseball Survive Without A Bubble In Place?

When the Flordia Marlins baseball team announce all the players that have Covid19 Major League Baseball's greatest fears were realized. Right now the Marlins will be sitting out until next week sometime or when they are cleared to come back and play again. Will this be an isolated case or will we see a lot more in the coming weeks?

The reality is there will be more positive cases in the future. If there is no more I would be totally shocked, to be honest. When MLB decided not to be in a bubble they trusted their players ould do the right thing 24/7 and stay safe. The reality is that will not happen as every player does not always follow the rules. This means if we have more positive tests MLB will have to decide if they want to shut down the season or not.

In my opinion, how Major League Baseball is doing this it is doomed to fail miserably. When you put your trust into Major League players to do the right things you just asking for heartbreak. I hope I am wrong about this but do not see this ending well for Major League Baseball.

Will A Shortened Season Championship Mean As Much As A Full Season One

Sports for the most part have been idled for a good amount of time and fans of these sports have been going through withdraw without them. Now that Baseball and Basketball are starting back up what does it mean if you win a championship this year. Will people put an asterisk by it or will they consider if a full season considering we are dealing with COVID19? Let's take a closer look at this and what the winners from these sports can ultimately expect.

Many people will tell you winning either championship will be tough and I do not disagree with that at all. Playing a shortened season and stuck in a bubble is never a lot of fun. As a team just putting things behind you and trying to win is tough when you are away from your loved ones for an extended time. I think winning the basketball championship will be a lot tougher, but both will have their challenges, to say the least.

In my opinion, were going to hear baseball did not play a full season and basketball took a break in-between there season. This is why many purists will not consider this a true championship whoever happens to win it. The teams that do win though will have earned it and will be called champions no matter what anyone thinks about it.

MLB And Players Continue To Trade Offers With No Break in Site

No matter how you cut it MLB and The Players Union just do no trust each other and the talks are evident of this on a daily basis. MLB has offered a 60 game schedule which the players union wanting at least 70. According to  MLB the most they will accept is 60 games, so that is where we are right now. Is there going to be a MLB season or not?

The reality is I think there will be a MLB season and it will only be 60 games long no matter how you cut it. The players do not want to lose any salary and of course, MLB does not want to give 100 percent to the players. We also still have the virus going around in the background of these talks. The real problem in my opinion isn't this season it's 2021 and beyond.

There is so much hatred going on between the two sides it will be hard for them to get a deal done in 2021 and beyond. Labor strife will rear it's ugly head in 2021 in my opinion. I cannot see both sides working to a deal anytime soon. Major League Baseball is taking a hit every day this drags on.

Why Can't Baseball Get It Right For A Change?

Well as the weeks go by it looks like baseball players and owners are drifting further apart which is sad. Both sides are battling about the number of games and how much they will get paid. Players want 100 percent of their salary and a certain number of games. Now I'm for everyone getting paid, but if you do not play a full season I don't think you should get paid every dime your owed. There are alot of people out of work, so you cannot expect to get much support from fans who are struggling to make ends meet.

The owners are not much better as well. They are not willing to budge just like the players. If this season is going to get done both sides must come together. Getting a deal done means both sides need to compromise, but right now that is not happening and were at a stalemate. What's the future for baseball?

I really think a deal will get done eventually, but at what cost. Will fans return to the sport, or will they just move on. Die-hard baseball fans will return, but in the climate we live in these days getting along seems the easy way out. It's too bad baseball owners and players do not understand this easy concept.

Do We Really Want To Know More About The Astros Cheating Scandal?

Do we really want to know more about the Houston Astros cheating scandal it might just piss us off more as fans? MLB did an investigation, but we really do not know-how through the investigation really was done. I will be honest I do not totally trust them to do a good investigation into anything. The reality is if they know more and it's going to hurt the product how do we know it will be included in the report at all.

From buzzers to trash can lids are just some of the props we have heard the Astros used to get an advantage on the competition. The real question, in my opinion, is what else did they do and how long has this been going on. Could this have been going on a long while and no one knew until Mike Fliers open the can of worms. Now other players have come forward with their stories of cheating they witnessed. This tells me this is widespread and just not an isolated incident.

Finding out more will not make fans any happier with the situation. You cannot take titles from them even though they cheated as the other team didn't win it after all. You can never know if the other team would have won if the Astros didn't cheat. Putting an asterisk besides the title makes more sense in my opinion. Hopefully, this will wake up MLB and they will be taking cheating more seriously.

Bryce Harper Is Not Worth 330 Million What Are The Phillies Thinking

No matter what anyone thinks Bryce Harper is not worth 330 Million dollars. His contract is worth more then what the Boston Red Sox spend to win the World Series last season. The Milwaukee Brewers only spent 108 million to make the playoffs. I just think the Philadelphia Phillies could have spent money more wisely than on Harper.

Is Bryce Harper a supreme talent? The truth is he is very talented, but he also has his drawbacks as a player. He sometimes is all about himself and not the team. Yes, Harper is talented, but you have to outweigh the negatives as well. The Phillies were willing to bet on Harper, but I think 330 million is way too much for a player who can be a problem sometimes.

I guess only time will tell if Harper was worth that kind of money. He will need to produce quickly and often to justify his huge contract. I just do not see it happening, but I have been wrong before so only time will tell.

We Will See If Baker Mayfield Was Worth The Money This Sunday Against Atlanta

This past Monday Night was very costly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they lost both wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Evans should be...
