Tom Brady Look Bad Against The Saints But Don't Count On That All The Time

The one thing we have learned about Tom Brady over the years is when we think he is done he comes back with a vengeance. The other thing we know about Tom Brady he never forgets games or what people say after losses in his career. He has a long memory and he usually gets even before it's all said and done.

Watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tom Brady last night was very painful, but sometimes you need to be taught a lesson. Many people had Tampa Bay as headed to the Super Bowl already and that is not how it works. Give the New Orleans Saints credit as they had a great plan in place and dominated the Bucs.

Sean Payton many times does not get the credit he deserves as he exploited the Buccaneer's defense and how to attack it. This loss will do one thing for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. Either they will learn from it and get better or will spiral downward and miss the playoffs.

Knowing Tom Brady he will not let this loss keep him from his goal. Throughout his career, he has had these kinds of moments and has always bounced back. I look for him to do that in this situation as well.

Drew Brees And Saints Agree On Mammoth Contract

The New Orleans Saints and Drew Brees finally agreed on a contract. Brees was given a five-year 100 million dollar contract with 60 million of it guaranteed. I will admit that is a lot of money, but Brees has put up some amazing numbers as Saints quarterback. The New Orleans Saints really had no choice as they knew losing Brees was not an option with Sean Payton out as coach.

Drew Brees is one of the leaders on the New Orleans Saints and they needed him. He got what he wanted and the Saints have a quarterback that will continue to put up impressive numbers. Now the Saints are going into the season without their coach, but they have one of the better quarterbacks locked up for five more years. It will be interesting to see how well Brees does this year without his coach on the sideline. Will he earn his money or will he struggle? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling the Saints will be fine with Brees under center.

Saints Players Collected Bounties For Great Hits

New Orleans Saints players and at least one assistant coach, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, maintained a bounty pool of up to $50,000 the last three seasons. If this is true that is not a good thing and you can be sure the NFL will come down hard on the organization. I expect a nice fine and even losing draft picks will be the result of it. Yes, the Saints were wrong in doing this, but I will bet you it happens a lot more then people on NFL teams will admit. If you can knock out a top star on the other team you know you have a better shot of winning the game. It is just facts and that is the truth.

The New Orleans Saints will be the team that gets punished for the bounties, but I am sure in the locker room it happens across the league. It just happens the New Orleans Saints got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. I am sure that the players and coaches involved never wished it happened, but once it came out some former players are saying it did not happen at all. I guess in the end we will see what comes of all this bounty stuff.

Brees Sets Record In 45-16 Rout Of Falcons

Drew Brees has always been about team first and this time the team help him get an elusive record. Brees set the NFL mark for yards passing in a season, breaking a record Dan Marino held for 27 years, and New Orleans wrapped up the NFC South title with a 45-16 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Now I am glad that Drew Brees got the record, but the way he got it may come into question down the road.

Breaking records are great and nothing wrong with them when they are done the right way. Routing the Falcons to just get the record was something that should have been avoided. Bress still had another game to play and could have gotten the record next week. To keep Brees in to get the record and run up the score I cannot agree with. The interesting thing about this game is both Atlanta and New Orleans could meet on the playoffs. If that happens you can be sure they will remember how the Saints decided to run the score up on them.

Packers Open Defense Of Title With A 42-34 Win Over Saints

It doesn't seem that the Green Bay Packers have lost a step since their Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers needed a goal line stand and got it to take a hard fought 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints. Aaron Rodgers looked very good and made the throws he needed too. The defense was a little suspect at times, but it is the first game of the season and you must remember that.

For the New Orleans Saints Drew Brees threw for 419 yards and three touchdowns, but it was not enough to get the Saints the win. On defense New Orleans just gave up to many big plays and that will kill you when that happens. Both teams played hard and it was a great way to kickoff the NFL season after having a strike. The slate of games this weekend should make it for a great weekend of NFL football.

We Will See If Baker Mayfield Was Worth The Money This Sunday Against Atlanta

This past Monday Night was very costly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they lost both wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Evans should be...
