No matter what anyone thinks Bryce Harper is not worth 330 Million dollars. His contract is worth more then what the Boston Red Sox spend to win the World Series last season. The Milwaukee Brewers only spent 108 million to make the playoffs. I just think the Philadelphia Phillies could have spent money more wisely than on Harper.
Is Bryce Harper a supreme talent? The truth is he is very talented, but he also has his drawbacks as a player. He sometimes is all about himself and not the team. Yes, Harper is talented, but you have to outweigh the negatives as well. The Phillies were willing to bet on Harper, but I think 330 million is way too much for a player who can be a problem sometimes.
I guess only time will tell if Harper was worth that kind of money. He will need to produce quickly and often to justify his huge contract. I just do not see it happening, but I have been wrong before so only time will tell.

Jimmie Rollins And Phils Reach Deal
Jimmie Rollins has always been a Phillie and that will not change for the near future. Rollins has reached agreement with Phils on a three-year contract with a vesting option for a fourth year. ollins, 33, is a three-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and won the National League MVP award in 2007. He is fourth on the Phillies' career list behind Richie Ashburn, Mike Schmidt and Ed Delahanty with 1,866 hits, and ranks among the franchise's top five in games played, plate appearances, runs, total bases, doubles, triples and stolen bases.
Getting Jimmie Rollins back in the fold was very important. He was hurt some last year, but when he is healthy he is one of the best in baseball. The Phillies needed him and in reality he probably did not want to go anywhere else anyways. Getting a three year deal will keep him a Phillie something Phillie fans should be excited about.

First Red Sox To Leave Is Johnathan Papelbon As He Signs With The Phillies
It seems the exit from Boston is starting and the first guy leaving town looks like Johnathan Papelbon the Red Sox closer. Papelbon, the longtime Red Sox right-hander who has anchored their bullpen for six years, including a World Series title in 2007, has agreed to a four-year, $50 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies pending a physical. Now to be honest I do not know what the Philadelphia Phillies gave him that kind of money, but they must see something in him.
Papelbon at times was very good, but at times he was a mystery and you did not know what you were going to get from him. I think the Phillies overpaid for Papelbon, but only time will tell how it will work out for the Phillies and the closer. Switching over to the National League maybe a little tough, but we will see what happens to him and if he can still be a top closer.

What We Learned About The Phillies And Brewers This Weekend
The Milwaukee Brewers have one of the best home records in baseball and this past weekend they welcomed the Philadelphia Phillies to Miller Park. Philadelphia has been the most consistent baseball team this season and they proved it again this weekend. The Phillies went in and took three out of four from the Milwaukee Brewers. In fact, the Brewers got lucky they did not get swept by the Phillies.
What did we learn from this series? Both teams have good starting pitching, but Philadelphia is just a little bit better. Milwaukee has some good hitters, but the Phillies hitters performed in the clutch the Brewers did not. Both teams are talented, but over time the Phillies have proven they can beat anyone almost anywhere. The Milwaukee Brewers are still a team trying to learn how to do that. It looks right now the Phillies are still the best until someone proves different. This past weekend the Brewers found out just how good the Phillies are.
