Paul Menard has never got the respect that he has wanted, but he understands why. Menard has a guaranteed sponsor with his dad owning Menards home improvement chain through the Midwest. He with the guaranteed sponsor Paul has still struggled to find victory lane until today. Menard's crew chief Slugger Labbe gambled on fuel mileage and it paid off for him and his team as Menard took the Brickyard 400. Jeff Gordon took second place, as he could not catch Menard at the end.
