Packers Open Defense Of Title With A 42-34 Win Over Saints

It doesn't seem that the Green Bay Packers have lost a step since their Super Bowl win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers needed a goal line stand and got it to take a hard fought 42-34 win over the New Orleans Saints. Aaron Rodgers looked very good and made the throws he needed too. The defense was a little suspect at times, but it is the first game of the season and you must remember that.

For the New Orleans Saints Drew Brees threw for 419 yards and three touchdowns, but it was not enough to get the Saints the win. On defense New Orleans just gave up to many big plays and that will kill you when that happens. Both teams played hard and it was a great way to kickoff the NFL season after having a strike. The slate of games this weekend should make it for a great weekend of NFL football.

Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are teammates, but winning races never gets old as Gordon bested his teammate for his 85th win in Atlanta. Johnson did his best to prevent Gordon from winning, but the Gordon had other ideas and took the checkered flag for his 85th win.
