Tom Brady vs Joe Montana: Patriots Owner Likes Brady Over Montana

Now I will admit Tom Brady has done a lot on the football field as a quarterback, and his owner Robert Craft things he is the best ever. Comparing him to Joe Montana in my opinion is a stretch though. Out of college, no one would have thought that Tom Brady would accomplish all that he has so far in his NFL career. Let's look closer at both quarterbacks and see which quarterback is actually better.

Both quarterbacks have pluses and minuses against them that's for sure. The one area that I think Brady falls short compared to Montana is making the perfect pass when needed. It seemed Joe Montana was always able to put the ball where he needed. Brady at times does have a little difficulty doing this that's for sure. Joe Montana was undefeated in Super Bowls which should tell you how good he was. Brady can never claim that feat.

Both quarterbacks are great, but if the game was on the line I would be choosing Joe Montana over Tom Brady and day of the week. Robert Kraft is partial and Brady is good, but not in the class of Joe Montana.

Roger Clemens Still Mowing Down The Competition At 50

Roger Clemens is a guy you either love or hate and many times I think that is the way he likes it sometimes. Clemens pitched 3 1-3 scoreless innings for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Independent Atlantic League. At age 50 Roger Clemens did look very good. When asked about a major league comeback he said no, but sometimes it makes you wonder. Why would a man come out and pitch for a team like this just for fun?
Scouts from Kansas City and Houston were in attendance to watch Roger Clemens pitch. Clemens said he enjoyed pitching in front of the 7,000 plus fans. In the end, we really have no idea why Roger Clemens is pitching at this level. Maybe it is for the enjoyment and giving back to the fans. I think there happens to be an underlying reason in all of this in the end.

Clemens has always wanted to get to the Baseball Hall Of Fame and he knows right now that is probably not likely. Maybe a year in the Major Leagues again may give some credence to that for him. I guess we will just have to wait and see how this all plays out. We did learn Roger Clemens can still pitch well at the age of 50.

Dwight Howard Needs To Put Clown Act Away For Good In L.A.

Now that Dwight Howard is a Los Angeles Laker he better change a few things or he will quickly find out Los Angeles is not where he wants to be. The clown act that worked in Orlando will not work in L.A. They expect Howard to come in and help them win a NBA Championship. His tired clown act that he used in Orlando will not be accepted by his teammates, fans, or the Lakers front office.

The second thing that Dwight Howard must do is make a commitment to winning in Los Angeles. At times in Orlando Howard he got lazy and stood around and did not come to play. He will not be able to do that in Los Angeles. Kobe Bryant will get in his face very quickly if he thinks Dwight Howard is not pulling his weight. Kobe is a guy who wants to win and will not tolerate a player who is there for just fun and games.

Yes, Dwight Howard is very talented, but in Los Angeles it is more then a game and Howard will realize that quickly. If he wants to win an NBA Championship he better change a few things and that means putting the clown act away. If he does that his time in Los Angeles could be real good for him, if not he might find an early ticket out of Los Angeles.

Tim Tebow Makes His Jet's Debut

Tim Tebow was brought to the New York Jets with a lot of fanfare, but in his first pre-season game there was nothing real super about his performance. He did run around a little, and threw one interception on a 5 for 9 night. Tebow is a good scrambler, but you cannot tell much from a pre-season game. Tebow is expected to excite New York and he may before it’s all said and done.

Last night though it was an average performance for a pre-season game. People expect great things from him no matter if it is a pre-season game or regular season. He does put people in the seats and that is a good thing for football. When the season starts though he will be on the bench getting in on special plays designed for him. Tebow may get his chance in New York, but only if the starting quarterback gets hurt. Tebow is still a work in progress and I think the New York Jets understand this when they got him. For his legion of fans they want to see him no matter how good or bad he plays.
