Cecil Cooper A Very Underrated Talent

Cecil Cooper was a player who started his career with the Boston Red Sox in 1971 and ended his career in 1987 with the Milwaukee Brewers. When Cooper hit the scene he was not known as a very good defensive player. Over the years though he improved that a lot and towards the end of his career he was a very good one.

Most people do not realize that Coop as he was known could do almost anything with the bat. If you needed a bunt, single or home run he could do it all. He made himself a complete player which is rare in today's game. Even though his numbers were not great in Boston he made up for that in Milwaukee. He helped the Brewers make the playoffs and was a consistent player during his time with the Brewers.

Cooper managed the Houston Astros, but was fired in 2009. He now lives in Texas with his wife Tori and has two grown daughters. Cecil Cooper was not the biggest star in his career, but a player that produced in the clutch and on a consistent basis.

Don Zimmer Has Died At 83 Years Young

Don Zimmer has passed away at the age of 83. I will admit Don Zimmer was one of my favorite guys in baseball. A friendly guy who love to coach and talk baseball with whomever wanted to listen to him. He almost won a championship as a manager with the Red Sox. His players loved playing for him and always talked fondly about him even when he left for another job.

Zimmer was also Joe Torre's right hand man in New York for many years. Zimmer will be missed in the baseball community. My condolences go out to his family and friends. Baseball has lost a great ambassador in Don Zimmer.

Did MLB Make A Mistake Not Suspending Ray's David Price?

It looks like MLB is back at it when it comes suspending players. David Price was in the center of controversy of the latest feud between the Red Sox and The Rays. Price and Ortiz got into it after Price drilled Oritz. I was surprised that Price did not get suspended for hitting Big Papi. What does this mean? It sets up many different problems for MLB.

First you must not pick and choose whom you suspend. If you suspend one player for throwing at another you need to suspend everyone. This tell players that MLB is not going to be fair when it comes to suspensions. That also means players will take punishments into their own hands even if it means a suspension.

I look for Big Papi to issue his own kind of justice. People may not like how he handles it, but he gave MLB a chance to take care of it and they did not. I guess we will have to wait and see how this all plays out in the end.

Miami vs San Antonio Game 1 Preview

Well we are at the NBA Finals for another year and it looks like we could have the making of a very good finals. San Antonio is hosting Miami in Game 1. The first game is always very important even though teams tend to downplay how important it really happens to be.

The Miami Heat must start quickly out of the game in San Antonio. The Spurs are tough at home and you do not want to give the Spurs and chances so a quick start is very important. Another important thing is to limit second chance shots and play good defense. Do not make nothing easy for the Spurs if the Heat want to win Game 1.

San Antonio has to slow down the Heat by slowing the game up. Miami would rather get up and down the court and this is something that the Spurs want to avoid at all costs. Playing good consistent defense will also be important to the Spurs. San Antonio needs to feed off there home if they want to win.

I like the Spurs to take Game 1 in the series. This is going to be a very long series and even if you lose Game 1 that does not mean you cannot win this series.

Will Lebron James Ever Go Back To Cleveland?

The Cleveland Cavaliers got the No.1 pick in the lottery, but is it enough to sway Lebron James to come home to Cleveland. Everyone would like to see a fairy tale ending, but I just do not see that happening anytime soon. The first problem is Cleveland really has nobody that James probably really wants to play with. Secondly, the Cavaliers are a number of years away and he is not going to waste years playing for no championships.

Lebron James I think would return to Cleveland in the right situation. Right now it is not the right situation and it could be a number of years before it happens to be. Maybe the only way it could happen would be if Miami starts to struggle and he can convince D-Wade or Bosh to come to Cleveland with him. That would be the only way I can see him returning to Cleveland.

Why Cleveland Had To Draft Johnny Manziel

The Cleveland Browns are looking to get back on top and the best way to start is getting a quarterback that has proven he can win games. Johnny Manziel won plenty of games at Texas A&M, but that does not mean he will see success in the NFL. Cleveland has a rabid fan base and to keep them coming back drafting Johnny Football was a no brainer.

Jerseys are flying off the shelves and season tickets are moving well. Johnny Football has hit Ohio and Browns fan could not be happier. Everything seems right with the Browns, but unless they get some offensive help for Johnny Manziel he will have a short career.
