Ric Flair One Of A Kind In Professional Wrestling

Ric Flair is one of a kind and still thrills crowds on a daily basis. The Nature Boy as he is known has fans from virtually all sports and continues to grow in popularity. Flair has wrestled for a long time and it has taken a toll on his body. Below is a video done in 2009 where Flair talks about his career and other things. Flair is one of a kind and maybe the greatest professional wrestler of all-time.

Temple Rolls Over Wyoming 37-15 In New Mexico Bowl

It's time for Bowl Games in College Football no matter if you like them or not. In The New Mexico Bowl Temple dominated Wyoming for an easy 37-15 win. It was only Temple's second bowl win on school history. Temple's Bernard Pierce ran for two early touchdowns and Temple quarterback Chris Coyer threw for 169 yards and a touchdown to pace The Owls to the win.

Many people wonder if we really need all these Bowl games and my answer is yes. Take Temple and Wyoming it gives them some kind of a reward for playing hard all season long. They are not playing in any National Championship game, but a bowl win is still a bowl win. Give Temple credit they played hard and now have their second bowl win.

Jimmie Rollins And Phils Reach Deal

Jimmie Rollins has always been a Phillie and that will not change for the near future. Rollins has reached agreement with Phils on a three-year contract with a vesting option for a fourth year. ollins, 33, is a three-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and won the National League MVP award in 2007. He is fourth on the Phillies' career list behind Richie Ashburn, Mike Schmidt and Ed Delahanty with 1,866 hits, and ranks among the franchise's top five in games played, plate appearances, runs, total bases, doubles, triples and stolen bases.

Getting Jimmie Rollins back in the fold was very important. He was hurt some last year, but when he is healthy he is one of the best in baseball. The Phillies needed him and in reality he probably did not want to go anywhere else anyways. Getting a three year deal will keep him a Phillie something Phillie fans should be excited about.

Around The Diamond: 2012 Milwaukee Brewers

Time for our early MLB Previews and today we will look at the 2012 Milwaukee Brewers. Milwaukee finally made the playoffs, but could not stop the eventual winner the St. Louis Cadinals. The Brewers did win the NL Central and should be a contender for it this coming season. Milwaukee has some issues it must address in the off-season. Maybe their biggest is what to do at first base. It looks like they will not resign Prince Fielder, so Mat Gamel will get his shot at first base.

Milwaukee also may have to deal with losing Ryan Braun as he had a positive test for drugs. He is appealing, and the Brewers will need to see how this works out for them. The Brewers did ship Casey McGehee to the Pirates for pitcher Jose Veras. This deal was done because the Brewers signed former Cub 3B Aramis Ramirez. Milwaukee is counting on Ramirez to pick up the slack with Fielder probably gone.

The Brewers also will have another shortstop as they signed Alex Gonzalez. He is a good shortstop, but his numbers with the bat will not wow anyone. The bullpen for the most part will be back. For the Brewers to contend again in 2012 they will need a team effort. Nyjer Morgan must continue to play with a steady head and the Brewers must stay injury free.

Starting pitching for the Brewers should be fine and even better this year. I look for the Brewers to contend again for the National League Championship. A lot will will depend on the pitching and if it holds up the Brewers could find themselves in the 2012 World Series.

Penn State Sexual Abuse Case Will We Ever Know The Whole Truth

The Penn State sexual abuse case will have no winners and finding out the whole truth may never ever come which is sad. One good thing came out yesterday as two Penn State officials can be tried on charges of lying to a grand jury about an allegation of child sex abuse against former Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, a judge ruled Friday. Getting the truth is something that would be nice, but in reality I doubt if we will ever know the truth.

It seems everyone knew about the sexual abuse from the top to former coach Joe Paterno, but no one came forward like they should have when it was alleged. It is a shame that you have so many adults and very few were willing to step forward to protect these kids. In the end your innocent until proven guilty, but from the evidence being presented it looks like many people could see jail time in this sad case.

Atlanta Hawks 2011-12 Preview-Will The Hawks Soar Higher In 2012

The Atlanta Hawk last season proved a lot of doubters wrong and are looking for the 2011-2012 season to be even better for them. If they are going to improve on last season they will do it without Jamal Crawford who signed with Portland. He will be missed by the Hawks, but they will just need to get contributions from others. One guy that will need to step up will be Jeff Teague on the offensive end. He plays good defense, but they need more from him on the offensive end.

For Atlanta Joe Johnson will be the guy they count on in the clutch and when they need that winning shot. He should flourish with Crawford gone as he will get more shots. The frontline of the Hawks are solid and should give teams a lot of trouble. Atlanta has good depth and I look for the Hawks again to soar high this year. A well rested Tracy McGrady should give the Hawks instant offense off the bench as well. I look for the Hawks to be a major player come playoff time in 2012.

Dallas Cowboys In Must Win Situation Against Bucs

The Dallas Cowboys are in the playoff hunt, but cannot continue to have mental lapses if they hope to make the playoffs. This week the Dallas Cowboys travel to Tampa to play the Bucs on the NFL Network at 8:20 pm Saturday Night. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers season has not been what they had hoped for so far. Knocking off the Dallas Cowboys though could help make it a lot better for them. Playing in front of an National audience is something the Buccaneers will like.

For the Dallas Cowboys they have had many mental lapses and questionable moves that have their owner and fans shaking their heads. This is a must win for the Dallas Cowboys who still have the Eagles and Giants to play. If Dallas wants to make the playoffs they must continue to win games. A loss could really hurt there chances at the playoffs. Getting a win in Tampa will be a good start for the final three games of the regular season.

Kobe Bryant's Wife Files For Divorce Is This Bad News For NBA Teams

It seems Kobe Bryant has been having a wandering eye according to his wife who has filed for divorced. Vanessa Bryant stated irreconcilable differences for the reason for asking for a divorce. In the filing, Vanessa Bryant asked for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's two daughters, Natalia, 8, and Gianna, 5. Kobe Bryant asked for the same in his response. Vanessa Bryant also requested spousal support.

Now for Kobe Bryant this cannot be good news or something that he really wanted to deal with right now. With the NBA season starting this is a distraction he did not need. Could this divorce filing hurt his season or help it. Knowing Kobe Bryant it will have him more focused on what he needs to get done. This means bad news for NBA teams in my opinion. When Kobe Bryant is mad, upset, or focused he plays better than he usually does. The divorced could also bring his game down, but knowing Kobe the opposite will happen. This means bad news for NBA teams.

Rip Hamilton Could Be The Missing Piece For The Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls are close to getting over the hump, but they are missing one piece. That missing piece could be Rip Hamilton. Chicago needed a guy who has been through the wars and can do a variety of things. Hamilton can come off the bench and give the Bulls instant offense and help Derrick Rose out. Last season, the Bulls asked Derrick Rose to do way too much. He needs some help and Rip Hamilton could be what the Bulls are looking for to get them over the hump.

Besides his defense and his scoring punch he will help bring leadership and help Rose grow as a player. Derrick Rose has grown up a lot, but having Hamilton will help him out a lot. He can learn a lot from Rip Hamilton and will become a better player. The Bulls needed one piece, and if Hamilton plays well in Chicago the Bulls will be even tougher to eliminate from the playoffs in 2012.

Will Anyone Give Kurt Busch A Ride In 2012?

Kurt Busch and Penske Racing parted ways recently, and Kurt Busch will be a hot free agent. The problem he will encounter is finding someone to give him a chance. High-profile teams will not touch him, so it will have to be a borderline team that has decent equipment, but need a talented racer to get them over the hump. One of those teams is Richard Petty Motorsports who may just give Kurt Busch the chance he wants. I think that Busch going to Richard Petty Motorsports could be just what the doctor ordered.

Busch needs to be in an organization that can help him and in return he can help them. This is why Richard Petty Motorsports would be great for Kurt Busch. There are a number of other supporters, but right now it looks like Richard Petty Motorsports could be the best fit for Busch. No matter who he chooses to drive for the one thing he must do is tone down his attitude and his mouth. If he does not he will find himself on the outside looking in again.

Brady vs Tebow Is This Really Fair

Yes, Tom Brady and Tim Tebow will each try to get their team a win, but to compare them is just not fair at all. Brady has won multiple Super Bowls and has stats that Tebow will probably only dream about. Each quarterback does it their own way, and get the results their teams need. There really is no comparing these two as one is head and shoulders above the other.

Tim Tebow has been winning games at the end, but that will end this Sunday. Brady will show Tebow all about winning and how it is done. Look for Coach Bill to throw in some wrinkles to rattle the young Tebow into mistakes. Once these mistakes are made the veteran Tom Brady will show Tim Tebow why he is a sure fire Hall Of Famer. Nope this match-up is not really fair, but as I have learned in the past you can never count Tim Tebow out.

Barry Bonds Avoids Jail Time In Obstruction Of Justice Case

Well Barry Bonds did avoid serving any jail time for his obstruction of justice case. A federal judge handed Bonds a sentence of 30 days of house arrest, two years of probation and 250 hours of community service on Friday. Bonds is appealing the conviction and the appeal process could take over a year. Not to many people even me thought Bonds would see any jail time. U.S. District Judge Susan Illston also put on hold a $4,000 fine against Bonds for his obstruction of justice conviction arising from a grand jury appearance eight years ago.

The prosecution was hoping for jail time, but that did not happen. Bonds basically got off pretty easy. Of course it did cost him and chance of getting back into baseball. No team wanted Bonds, and I doubt if he will ever see the Hall Of Fame. It will be interesting to see if Bonds ever admits steroid use or takes all his secrets to the grave.

Colts Need To Make Sure Peyton Manning Does Not Take The Field this Season

Peyton Manning has been itching to get back in the lineup as he has resumed throwing the football. For the Indianapolis Colts they are looking at a season in which they most likely will not win a game. This is something that Peyton Manning does not like one bit. Hopefully common sense will prevail and the Colts will not march him onto the field this coming season. Many times, teams rush players back and there is no need to put Peyton Manning on the field this season.

For the Colts keeping him on the bench makes a lot more sense. They will get the No.1 draft pick and a player that can help their team for years to come. Sending Peyton Manning out on the field could get him hurt. Let him miss a whole season and come ready in 2012. I would rather have a losing season than to lose Peyton Manning for another year. Hopefully, the Colts will not try to get a win by sending out their star and risk another senseless injury.

Dwight Howard Still A Magic But How Much Longer

The Orlando Magic have decided for now they will keep their superstar and see how it goes. Magic brass have informed teams they are no longer seeking any trade partners for Dwight Howard. This means for now Howard will be a Magic. Now how long that may last can be anyone's question. Howard had asked for a trade, but has soften that stance a little bit in the past few days.

The main reason no trade was done was Orlando wanted a lot and no team had enough to make a trade go. Any team that wanted Howard would needed other trading partners to jump in to make it work. I just do not see other NBA teams help another one get Howard. For now he will be an Orlando Magic and it will be interesting in the coming months to see how this all plays out in the end.

Will Chris Paul Rule Los Angeles

The on and off again saga between the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Hornets appears to finally be over. The Clippers have in principle agreed to a trade with the Hornets for Chris Paul. The Hornets will receive  guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick. The Clippers will also receive two future second-round picks.

Looking at the trade I think the Clippers did not do bad for themselves. They are building a nice team and when you can add someone like Chris Paul you will only get better. With Blake Griffin already there and some of the other players the Clippers have picked up this looks to be a very good team. It looks like Los Angeles will have two very good teams for a few years to come.

Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant will battle for King Of Los Angeles. Right now Kobe Bryant is King, but that could change in the near future. For once the Los Angeles Clippers have a basketball team that actually has a good chance to unset the Lakers as Kings Of LA.

Orlando Magic 2011-2012 Preview- Will The Magic Rise Above The Drama With A Good Season

The 2011-12 version of the Orlando Magic could be much different if the many different trade options come to pass. Dwight Howard has asked for a trade and he really has no idea where he wants to go. If Howard does get traded this means Hedo Turkoglu and Chris Duhon could also be going along with their high dollar contracts as well.

Orlando did trade for Glen "Big Baby" Davis from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Brandon Bass. I think Glenn Davis is going to do well in Orlando and will play a big role in what the Magic will do this season. If Orlando does trade Dwight Howard look for Davis to have an even bigger role in the team.

The 2011-12 edition of the Orlando Magic is still evolving and could for some time. Gauging what kind of team or season Orlando will have is tough, but with or without Howard they will still be a decent team. Magic fans would like to keep Howard, but that may not be in the cards no matter how much they hope for that.

Miami Heat 2011-2012 Preview-Can They Win It In 2012?

It's time for our 2011 NBA Preview, and what better way to start it than with our friends in Miami. The Miami Heat should be interesting again this season. Right now, Miami still have the Big Three in Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh, but in reality nothing else to really get you excited about. Miami still needs a point guard they can rely on.

The center position is another area Miami is soft at as well. Until these two problem areas are addressed Miami will still struggle to win a Championship. The Heat should have tried to make a move for Chauncey Billups. He could have helped them in many different ways, but the Clippers snapped him up quickly. I am sure Miami will make a few moves, but getting a decent center is something that needs to be high on their list.

The Big Red Monster Kane Is Back And There's Hell To Pay!

Kane was gone for awhile, but no one could imagine the Kane we would see again. The Big Red Monster is back and it looks like no one is safe. In fact, John Cena felt the wrath of Kane on Monday Night Raw for some reason. Kane has been nursing an injury, but apparently he is healed by his appearance on Monday Night Raw.

The Big Red Monster is much more dangerous it seems this time around. Whoever crosses path with The Big Red Monster it seems is in for some pain big-time. I guess we will have to wait to see what Kane is after and why he attacked John Cena. I am sure in the coming weeks we will find out why Kane went after Cena.

Dwight Howard Still Wants To Be Traded

Sometimes I have to wonder what Dwight Howard is thinking when he talks in the media. According to Howard his trade request is still on and he wants to be traded out of Orlando.  I love Howard, but personally I would like to see the Magic trade him and be done wit it. Right now he is trying to hold the Magic hostage and that is a shame.

The Orlando Magic should be done with him and get as much as they can. All this drama is doing is making it tougher to have a good season for the Magic. Getting him moved will let the Magic start getting people in here who can help the team and does not have another agenda. Howard first game is coming up and I look for Howard a fan favorite to get booed pretty good.

You would think that Dwight Howard would have learned something through the whole James fiasco, but he has not. Now the Orlando fans will have their chance to show their displeasure with him shortly. I think Howard could be surprised by the rough treatment the fans give him. He really only can blame one person for it himself.

Lebron James Tired Of Villain Role Already!

Lebron James tried to wear the villain hat last season, and you could see that is just not James. When he took off from Cleveland he thought that was the way to go. He has since learned that he likes the love and respect a lot more than the villain role. He now understands why Cleveland fans hated him for what he did. The special was a mistake and something he will live with the rest of his life.

For James tossing the villain hat aside and being himself again will make him a much more dangerous player. James plays better as a fan favorite and loves to hear the crowds cheer him. Last season, he was not use to being booed as much as he was. He thought it would only happen in Cleveland, but he learned it was virtually everywhere. Now that James is turned the corner and thrown the villain persona away he may win that elusive NBA Championship he wants so bad.

Better Late Then Never Ron Santo Makes Baseball Hall Of Fame

It took awhile, but Ron Santo was finally voted into the Baseball Hall Of Fame a place that he should have been in a long time ago. The Baseball Hall Of Fame dropped the ball on this one and he has since passed and will not be able to enjoy this honor. At least his family will, but that is little consolation in my opinion.

Ron Santo played the game hard and was a great player for the Chicago Cubs. Santo was a nine-time All-Star, hit 342 home runs and won five Gold Gloves. He was a Cubs broadcaster for two decades and loved his Cubs. For Santo's family they are happy in one moment, but sad that Ron does not get to enjoy the moment. What can you expect we are talking about The Baseball Hall Of Fame and they continue to drop the ball when it comes to getting the right people into the Hall.

From The South

Written by Fermin Washington

Being from the south means there are a lot of things you think are a necessity that a lot of other people can’t understand. Sweet tea is one and being near family is another – those are just things you come to expect here. Unfortunately for me I live in Atlanta which isn’t exactly like all the other southern areas – it’s far more metropolitan and there’s actually quite a good bit of crime if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time. I bought an adorable little condo actually in a transitional area last year and though I love the inside of it the outside leaves some to be desired. At least I have a garage and Atlanta security systems to make me feel better about living all alone, otherwise I think I’d be scared just being there by myself. I like my job and my friends here but sometimes I wish I could pick up all that and move it to the West coast or something similar. I’m sick of being here!

Ryan Braun Named National League MVP

Ryan Braun of the Milwaukee Brewers took home the National League MVP trophy even though some thought Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers should have won it. Kemp did have better numbers than Braun, but when you play on a third place team that's what happens.

I had Braun winning the title because he carried the Brewers in September and is a clutch player when the Brewers needed him. Kemp was hindered by not playing in meaningful games in September. No matter who one both would have been a good choice. Braun pocketed an extra 100,000 for the MVP win.

Justin Verlander Grabs AL MVP Award

Justin Verlander is up for the AL MVP, but should he get it over everyone else? One of his main competitors will be Jacob Ellsbury. For Ellsbury he batted .321 with 32 home runs, 105 RBIs, scored 119 runs and had 39 stolen bases, making him the only 30-30 man in the history of the Boston Red Sox. Toss in a gold glove and you can see why many people think he could win the AL MVP.

For Justin Verlander his stats are very impressive for a pitcher. Verlander was 24-5 with a 2.40 ERA, threw 251 innings, allowed 174 hits, struck out 250 batters, had a .920 WHIP. He won the Cy Young and helped the Detroit Tigers win their division and a spot in the playoffs. Choosing between Ellsbury and Verlander is a tough decision, but here is why Verlander deserves to be AL MVP.

You take Justin Verlander out of the lineup for the Tigers for an extended amount of time they do not win the division or as many games as they did. He was a vital part of the Tigers success and without him they are just a .500 ball team. This is why Justin Verlander deserves to be AL MVP. He has similar numbers just like Roger Clemens had when he won the AL MVP in 1986. I will admit I will be kind of shocked if Verlander does not in it.

Today, Justin Verlander walked away with the AL MVP. An award that he deserved. It's a rare feat when you see a pitcher win the AL MVP and CY Young award in the same year. This just shows you how dominate Justin Verlander was this year.

Tony Stewart Smokes Competition And Grabs Third Nascar Championship

Tony Stewart did not give himself much of a chance to win the Nascar Championship before the Chase started, but it seems like he was just blowing smoke up his competition's tailpipe. Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards finished tied for the Nascar point lead, but because Stewart had five wins and Edwards only one Stewart is the new Nascar champion.

You have to give Tony Stewart a lot of credit as I never thought he had a chance of winning the Nascar championship at all. Before the chase started he struggled, but when the Chase got started it seemed to renew him and no one could find a way to derail him one bit. Carl Edwards did all he could do, but it was not enough to stop Smoke. It was Tony Stewart's third Nascar Championship and probably his sweetest one. The main reason for that is he is a owner and driver and that makes it even more sweeter.
