Nebraska Cornhuskers Loaded And Ready For Big Ten

Big Ten play will begin in a little while and Nebraska cannot wait to tackle their tough schedule. When I heard that Nebraska Cornhuskers were heading into the Big Ten many different things went through my thought process. I was thinking are they crazy, but after thinking through everything Tom Osborne made a great move that will benefit the school and the football program. In the Big 12 Nebraska was not talked about like they had been in the past. This gives them a chance to be the big dog on campus once again. Many people do not think it will happen, but here is why it will and fairly quickly.

One of the biggest advantages the Cornhuskers will have is now a chance to recruit from a wider base of players than ever before. Nebraska has always been able to recruit, but joining the Big Ten will help them even more. Not that they really needed any help to begin with.

The Big 12 plays a pro style fast pace game and to be honest Nebraska does not have those kinds of athletes. They rather play smash mouth football and the Big 12 was getting away from that and they knew this, so they made a move at the right time. The Big Ten on the other hand does have some pro style offenses, but for the most part they are run first pass second just like Nebraska likes it. They probably know how to play that style of football better than anyone.

Going into the Big Ten is a natural progression as they will be able to do what they love best and that is to run, run, and run some more. They do not have to worry about too many teams scoring tons of points as the Big Ten offenses are not as complex, as you see in the Big 12. This was a perfect chance for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Tom Osborne knew it. Will it be a cake walk for the Huskers? By no means, but they are on a more level playing field, and they get to run the type of offense Husker fans have seen for years. It will be a learning curve for the first year, but after that watch out!

Paul Menard Saves Fuel Captures Brickyard 400 Sunday

Paul Menard has never got the respect that he has wanted, but he understands why. Menard has a guaranteed sponsor with his dad owning Menards home improvement chain through the Midwest. He with the guaranteed sponsor Paul has still struggled to find victory lane until today. Menard's crew chief Slugger Labbe gambled on fuel mileage and it paid off for him and his team as Menard took the Brickyard 400. Jeff Gordon took second place, as he could not catch Menard at the end.

Plaxico Burress Lands With The J-E-T-S!

Now everyone had Plaxico Burress going to a New York team, but it was the Giants not the New York Jets. Other teams showed interest as well, but Burress decided on $3.017 million fully guaranteed from the Jets. He was scheduled to go to the 49ers for an interview, but that was scrapped after the Jets called and made their offer to him.

Burress is fresh out of jail and has not played for almost two years. Earlier in the week the Jets signed Santonio Holmes and now with Burress it looks like Braylon Edwards is the odd man out of New York. Burress is a big play receiver who will help the Jets out a lot if he can regain his old form quickly. It will be interesting to see how long it takes him to get back up to speed. No matter what the Jets have a great set of bookend wide outs for another Super Bowl run.

Are The Brewers Losing To Many Talented Players For The Sake Of Winning Now

When do you say enough is enough when it comes to trading your young talent away.Sometimes you have to wonder If Brewers GM Doug Melvin is trading away too much of the Brewers talent. In 2010 and 2011, the Brewers have lost a lot of talented players all for the sake of winning it in 2011. On December 6, 2010 the Brewers traded Brett Lawrie to Toronto for Shaun Marcum. Lawrie is a top talent and will be in the Majors in the not too distant future. Shaun Marcum has pitched well, so you cannot fault that trade at all.

December 19, 2010 the Brewers traded Jake Odorizzi (minors), Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar and Jeremy Jeffress to Kansas City for Yuniesky Betancourt, Zack Greinke and cash. Now Greinke has not been great by any means, and Betancourt has struggled all season long for the most part. Losing Lorenzo Cain and Alcides Escobar in my opinion was huge and so far this trade has been about even. The talent the Brewers gave away in this trade was too much in my opinion.

On March 27, 2011 Brewers traded Cutter Dykstra (minors) and cash to the Washington Nationals. Received Nyjer Morgan. This was one of the trades that the Brewers did well on. Morgan has been more than the Brewers could have hoped for. July 12, 2011 Brewers traded two players to be named to the New York Mets and received Francisco Rodriguez and cash. This was another trade that was good all dependent on who the Brewers have to give back to the Mets. This was an interesting trade, but the question will be what happens next year and down the road.

Now today the Brewers acquired Jerry Hairston Jr who is 36 years old from the Washington Nationals. Who did the Brewers give up in return for this journeyman Erik Komatsu, 23, was batting .294 in 93 games with Double-A Huntsville this season. He was taken in the eighth round of the 2008 draft, and was the Brewers' minor league player of the year last season. Now this is just too talent to lose all for the sake of winning right now when there are no guarantees. GM Doug Melvin has gambled everything on this season, and if it does not work he has really hurt the Brewers for years to come. There is always a price to pay when you trade away talent. I hope the Brewers do not pay a price later down the road.

2011 Indianapolis Colts NFL Preview

In this 2011 NFL Preview we will take a look at the 2011 Indianapolis Colts and where they could end up this season. Just two years removed from A Super Bowl appearance the Colts want to get back to the big dance, but must stay healthy. One of the biggest problems the Colts had last year was injuries. If they want to do anything this season they must stay healthy.

Peyton Manning who had off-season surgery will not be ready when camp opens up. You can be rest assured though when the season rolls around he will be under center. The Colts retained K Adam Vinatieri and will make a strong push for RB Joseph Addai as well. The key for the Colts offense this season is to stay healthy. They cannot continue to hope Peyton Manning can bale them out. Guys like Dallas Clark, Austin Collie, and Pierre Garcon must stay healthy. If that happens the Colts will be fine on offense.

On defense the front seven for the Colts are not bad led by Dwight Freeney and Gary Brackett. Their problem is in the secondary and that is a big issue. Bob Sanders is no longer a Colt and the secondary is not very good right now. Unless they play better this season the Colts could give up a lot of pass plays down the field. The Colts need to bring in some experienced players to help out the younger ones in the secondary.

Overall, the Colts should again win this division as they still have Peyton Manning. As long as you have him at the helm you always have a chance to do something special. The problem is on defense and I do not know if they can overcome that deficiency to make it too the Super Bowl.

Vince Young Released By Titans What's Next For Young

Vince Young was released by the Tennessee Titans which was a moved that has been coming for some time now. The Titans announced in January they would either release the 28-year-old Young or try to trade him because he's not in their plans for 2011. The team selected quarterback Jake Locker with the eighth overall pick in April's draft and reached an agreement with former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. What's next for Vince Young?

Coming out of Texas it looked like Young would have a stellar career, but it has been anything but that. Injuries, work ethic, and battles with the head coach has shown Young in a very negative light. He will get another chance somewhere in the NFL, but the real question is where. I could see him hooking up with the Raiders, but you just do not know. Unless Young has changed and is ready to tackle football with 100 percent effort not too many teams will give him a chance.

North Carolina Decides To Fire Butch Davis

Now this may come as a shock to many people, but I was wondering what took North Carolina so long. North Carolina fired football coach Butch Davis on Wednesday, saying the past year of turmoil amid an NCAA investigation into improper benefits and academic misconduct was doing too much damage to the school’s reputation. This has been going on for some time and now North Carolina decides to do it. It really does not make much sense of firing Davis nine days before training camp opens, but we never said people who do the hiring and firing are real bright.

Davis did have a lot of academic problems and in the end that was Butch Davis downfall. His record at North Carolina was good and he brought back the program to respectability. Now North Carolina is stuck hiring an interim coach as they are two close to the start of training camp. It will be interesting to see how the firing effects the team and how they move forward. Many former players went on Twitter to offer support for Butch Davis and how North Carolina made a mistake. That should tell you something when former players stand by their coach. I guess we will just have to wait and see how this all plays out in the end.

Giants Make Bold Move Trade In Place For Carlos Beltran

This is how you try to win back to back World Series, you bring in guys who can help you through a trade and that is what the San Francisco Giants have in place. Beltran will go to the Giants for 21-year-old right-hander Zack Wheeler, the sixth pick in the 2009 draft. The Mets are also reportedly going to pay a bulk of Beltran's salary as well. No matter how you look at it the Giants definitely got a lot better once the deal is announced.

San Francisco was already tough, but adding Carlos Beltran to an offensive that has struggled at times is a big boost. The Giants have a very deep rotation along with one of the better bullpens. This has to put them right up there with the Phillies as one of the favorites in the National League. Beltran should do well in San Francisco and the Mets get a pitcher to start in the rebuilding process that it seems they have been on for awhile.

Ervin Santana Throws No-Hitter Against Tribe As Angels Win 3-1

Now it seems everything has been going downhill for the Cleveland Indians as of late and today was no exception. Angels pitcher Ervin Santana pitched the first solo no-hitter for the Angels in nearly 27 years, striking out 10 and leading Los Angeles over the Cleveland Indians 3-1 Wednesday. Santana allowed only two runners -- there was an error on the leadoff batter in the first inning and a walk in the eighth. Now Santana would be the last Angels pitcher I would think could throw a no-hitter, but he did.

The Tribe started the season hot, but has struggled since the hot start. Injuries and just poor p[lay has been their downfall, and now a no-hitter is thrown against them. This also was the first no-hitter at Progressive Field, a ballpark that opened as Jacobs Field in 1994. The last pitcher to hold the Indians hitless was Jim Abbott of the New York Yankees on Sept. 4, 1993. For Santana, it was a most unlikely performance. The 28-year-old righty came in 0-6 with a 4.98 ERA in 10 career starts against the Indians. Well the Tribe can always look forward to tomorrow as it's a new day.

2011 Jacksonville Jaguars NFL Preview

Next up in our 2011 NFL Preview is the Jacksonville Jaguars. The fans in Jacksonville have been waiting patiently for some success, but they have not seen a lot in recent years. Last years Jaguars team was one that Coach Jack Del Rio never knew what he would see from week to week. Sometimes they would come out and play great, and other times it looked like they could not beat a high school team.

On offense it looks like David Garrard's hold on the starter spot could be in jeopardy this coming season. At times Garrard has struggle and with the Jaguars drafting Blaine Gabbert out of Missouri look for Gabbert to get a good look in the pre-season. Maurice Drew-Jones will lead a good rushing attack for the Jaguars, but the passing game needs work. With the Jaguars being under the cap they maybe able to get some receivers in here to help the offense.

The real problem last season was the defense and that must be addressed. One great move the Jaguars have made so far is signing Paul Posluszny. He signed a six year deal worth 45 million dollars with Jacksonville. This will help a defense that was near the bottom in almost every defensive category. Unless improvement is made on defense this season it is going to be another long season for Jaguar fans. The Jaguars need to show some improvement or Jack Del Rio could be fired early. If the Jaguars can reach .500 or better that will be a success for them in 2011.

Santonio Holmes Agrees To Five Year Deal With Jets

The New York Jets wanted to keep Santonio Holmes and today they did just that. Holmes agreed to a five year deal with the Jets. Holmes is a good receiver who will make that tough catch when you need it. The Jets could not afford to let him go as Mark Sanchez needs Holmes and Braylon Edwards back as well. Now that the Jets have Holmes under contract will they sign Braylon Edwards next.

Signing Santonio Holmes was a great move by the Jets, but it cannot end there though. Getting Braylon Edwards back is just as important in my opinion. If they only sign Holmes he will be double covered and ineffective. By signing Edwards the Jets can have two big targets for Sanchez and that will make it so much easier on him. I guess we will have to see what the Jets are thinking, but do not be surprised if Edwards is back as well.

Matt Hasselbeck Agrees To Terms With Titans

The Tennessee Titans solved their quarterback problems very quickly by grabbing Matt Hasselbeck and signing him to a contract. Hasselbeck was the starting quarterback In Seattle, but have been talking to other clubs. Tennessee needed a veteran quarterback to come in after Kerry Collins retired. This should be a good fit for Hasselbeck and the Titans.

Hasselbeck signed a multi-year contract with the Titans and he will have Jake Locker as his backup most likely. This will help Locker see how you do things as he will learn from a seasoned pro who has done all the right things in his career. For the Titans they get a very good quarterback and a mentor for Jake Locker at the same time you cannot ask for more.

Donovan McNabb Trade In Place To Go To Vikings

It looks like the Donovan McNabb experiment is over in Washington as there is a trade in place to move him Minnesota. The details still have to be worked out, but as long as the deal does not fall through McNabb will be wearing purple in the 2011 season. This would be a good fit for McNabb who comes to a team that is good and has a chance to lead them to the playoffs. In Washington they were not going anyway, so it is a fresh start for McNabb.

For the Redskins it was a easy way to end the Donovan McNabb experiment, and they can move on from it all. Many people thought McNabb to Washington was a good fit, but it never was. He did not get along with Coach Mike Shanahan and leaving is probably best for both sides. Each side gets a fresh start and that is what both need right now. It will be interesting to see how well Donovan McNabb does in Minnesota.

Seattle Seahawks Part Ways With Matt Hasselbeck

The players are coming and going quickly around the league. It looks like the Seattle Seahawks and Matt Hasselbeck have parted ways. The Seahawks have added Tarvaris Jackson and Matt Leinart, and along with Charlie Whitehurst will compete for the starting quarterback job. It is interesting that Leinart is back with his old ball coach maybe that is what Leinart needs to get his career back on track.

For Matt Hasselbeck he really did not fit what coach Pete Carroll wanted and he is talking to the 49ers and Titans. I think either choice would be great for Hasselbeck,. For the Seahawks it will be interesting as now they do not have a proven leader at quarterback. They will miss Hasselbeck and what he brought to the team. I guess we will just have to wait and see how it works out for all parties involved.

Is Pat Devlin The Answer At Quarterback For The Dolphins?

The Miami Dolphins need a quarterback and they wasted no time in getting one. Undrafted Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin was signed to a three year deal by the Miami Dolphins. Other teams were interested in Devlin, but with a good chance to start in Miami he took the Dolphins offer. Devlin will compete with Chad Henne for the Dolphins starting quarterback job. Henne has struggled at times and that is the main reason they signed Devlin to a contract.

Devlin put up some nice numbers at Delaware where he threw for over 3,000 yards and 22 touchdowns last season. He has decent size and a good arm. The Dolphins need stability at quarterback as Henne just has been too inconsistent as a starter. Miami needs someone who can lead them, and not make the mistakes at critical points in the game. At times Henne looked great, but he would always make that critical mistake when you least can afford it.

Marion Barber And Roy Williams Going To Get Cut By Cowboys

Now it should not come as a surprise that the Dallas Cowboys will be getting rid of some of the players they really do not want or basically pay anymore. One of the players that have been rumored to be going for a number of years is Marion Barber and he will be one of those that is scheduled to be cut. Wide receiver Roy Williams kicker Kris Brown, and offensive lineman Leonard Davis will also be let go.

Cutting Barber will save the Cowboys 4.75 in cap space. Barber will not have a problem finding a team to go too. He is a back that will give you all he can and someone will grab him. The last few years Marion Barber has been on the chopping block and now he will be gone. Wide receiver Roy Williams is another guy the Cowboys will be letting go as he never lived up to their expectations. The Cowboys also will cut some linemen, and it looks like Tony Romo could be on his back side more again. Sometimes you have to wonder what teams think when making cuts beside money. Below is one of Marion Barber's greatest runs.

2011 Houston Texans NFL Preview

Next up in our 2011 NFL Preview is the Houston Texans. The Texans are a team that in my opinion have had the pieces to make it to the playoffs, but never seem to get the job done. The Texans are very good on offense and quarterback Matt Schaub is in his fifth year in Gary Kubiak's offensive system, and knows it backwards and forwards. The one problem that Schaub has is making the crucial mistakes when the Texans cannot afford it. They have plenty of weapons on offensive, but they Schaub to stop making the critical mistakes in games.

On defense the Texans struggle to stop people and with the talent they have that should not happen. In comes Wade Phillips to take over the defense. He will switch from the 4-3 to the 3-4. This will be an adjustment, but the Texans can handle it. The main reason for ther switch is the Texans have some great linebackers. The Texans have  (Mario Williams and Brian Cushing) and two second-round picks (DeMeco Ryans and Connor Barwin) that is a good core of Linebackers. The defense needs to step up their play from last season.

It seems the Texans can never have a full season on both sides of the ball. One year the defense will be great than it will be the offense. The Texans will score points, and with Wade Phillips to run the defense they may surprise a few people. I really like what the Texans have on both sides of the ball, but the bottom line they still must perform. Until they do that they will never be the team they can be. This could be the year they make the playoffs, but it will need to be a team effort not just one side of the equation.

Can Texas Hook Another Big 12 Championship?

Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns were not satisfied with a 5-7 season and that will not continue to fly in Austin Texas either where College Football is King. Many times you spoil people and that is what Mack Brown and his Texas Longhorns has done. Can they turn it around in 2011 and grab another Big 12 Championship? They can, but it will take some work from the Longhorn players and even Coach Mack Brown has to be better.

The first order of business for the Longhorns will be who will be their quarterback. Will Colt McCoy's brother Case take over as quarterback, or will it be Garrett Gilbert again this season. Look for Gilbert to be the starting quarterback as he is a talented guy, but he will need help from others on offense as well.

Maybe the one area that the Longhorns need the most help is on defense. They were terrible on defense last year giving up huge chunks of yardage. This has to stop if they have any chance at a Big 12 Championship. Now there prime challenge will be a loaded Oklahoma team. Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns have had great success against the Sooners in the past. Do not discount this Longhorn team, as it seems when you count Mack Brown out he has a few tricks up his sleeve.

Baltimore Ravens To Release Willis McGahee

The Baltimore Ravens have told running back Willis McGahee they will release him when the league calendar permits it, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. With the lockout over, the league has set a 4 p.m. ET deadline on Thursday for players to be cut or waived. This really should not come as a shock to Ravens fans or others in the league.

Ray Rice is now the feature back in the Ravens offense and McGahee was not getting the type of carries he needs to be effective. I am sure he will hook on with another club once he is released. This is something that we will see more of as Thursday arrives and teams start trimming the fat from their rosters.

Are You Ready For Football?

With the NFL season finally a go I found this tentative timeline that will get you started on your upcoming NFL season. Tuesday should be a day we see plenty of action as this is when many signing may occur. The flurry will be hot and heavy in the next couple weeks and at Sports Blogging Network we will be here to help you make sense of it all.

TENTATIVE NFL TIMELINE

2011 Tennessee Titans NFL Preview

Now that the NFL strike is over it is time to get back to football and we will do that by starting our 2011 NFL Preview. Each day we will blog about some of the teams and what you can expect from them and their needs hopes and desires. Today, we will take a look at the 2011 Tennessee Titans a team in transition it seems.

Gone are Coach Jeff Fisher, Kerry Collins and Vince Young will be gone as well very soon. The Titans find themselves with many holes to fill and little time to do it. Now the interesting thing is with Fisher gone is it certain they will not bring back Young I do not know about that. With Kerry Collins retiring they may want to keep Vince Young around for a little longer, but we will have to wait and see. The Titans did draft Jake Locker, so you never know what the Titans may do. There first order of business though will be to sort out the quarterback issue they seem to have right now.

Fisher's replacement, former offensive line coach Mike Munchak will have to deal with Chris Johnson who is threatening to hold out unless he gets a new contract. Toss in Kenny Britt's off the field problems and possible suspension Munchak has his hands full that's for sure. The defense also needs worked on as well for the Titans, so it could be another long season for Titans fans. Do not look for a lot from the Titans, but in the future they maybe able to turn it around. Munchak is a coach that will not out up with nonsense and will get them going in the right direction eventually.

Finally! NFL And Players End Lockout!

Well it is about time as this lockout has went on long enough. The NFL and Players have both agreed to a new contract and at least part of the pre-season should be played. At least the season will not be lost which it looked like was a possibility for awhile. We know we will have NFL Football for some time now and fans everywhere could not be happier.

Now that the strike is over for good it is time we get back talking football which we love. Today, we will start our NFL 2011 Preview and we are going to look at the Tennessee Titans first, who have a lot of questions to answer before they hit the NFL field this coming season. Look for it later on the blog!

Brett Favre Coming Back Say It Isn't So

Now that the NFL lockout is about over you knew we had to hear some crazy rumors and one that has been floating around is about Brett Favre. The rumor is the Eagles maybe interested in him and are putting out feelers about him being a backup for them. Now I do not know if that is true, but Michael Vick likes the idea alot.

The scenario is the Eagles will probably trade Kevin Kolb away most likely to the Arizona Cardinals it seems and the Eagles need a backup quarterback. How about Brett Favre? I am hoping this is just a story that grew legs and Favre is not coming back. I was getting use to not talking about him, but here we go again. With Brett Favre you just do not know anymore it seems. Favre an Eagle I guess that may happen only time will tell.

Fans Get Ready For NFL Football As Vote Comes Monday

I will admit I am tired of all this strike talk and will be glad to write about football again in a positive sense, and talk about the upcoming season which should be a good one. Now that the strike is virtually over fans can start hitting the message boards and blogs telling everyone why their team will win the Super Bowl.

Teams and owners also have a lot of work to do as well. Training camps will be opening and getting ready for the season and signing free agents will be high on their list. Come tomorrow we will start our countdown to the season by looking at each team and what we see for them. Look for it tomorrow here at Sports Blogging Network. I am one happy camper this bullshit strike is over, and now let's talk some football.

NFL And Players Fumble The Ball When It Comes To The Fans

Just like any other strike it is always the fans that people tend to forget about. The NFL owners have agreed in principle to end the lockout, but the players have not signed off on it. The owners have said this is the best deal they will offer the players.

This just goes to show you that neither side cares about the fans the ones who line their pocketbooks on a yearly basis. If the fans would stop buying the merchandise and going to the games then the owners and players would sing a different tune. Just as consumers boycott companies and products fans need to start doing the same thing.

If we could have a mass fan revolt for a couple of weeks players and owners would learn the fan has power. The way it stands though as soon as it is settle it will go back to the way it was until another strike happens. One of these days I would just like the players and owners to think about the fans for once. I forgot as long as the fan keeps lining their pockets they do not care.

When Will The Undertake Retire?

There comes a time where every professional wrestler must think about retirement. Has that time come for the immortal Undertaker? He has been a main event draw for many years, but in the last few years injuries have caught up with him. He does have that impressive streak of wins at Wrestlemania's that will never be broken, so why not retire.

Undertaker may have some unfinished business inside the ring. There maybe a few guys he would still love to beat that he has not had the chance to just yet. I look for Undertaker to run his string to 20-0 at Wrestlemania's and then he will retire. I hope he does not hang on too long like other's we have seen in recent years. Get out while you have your health as it is the best choice you can make. We will have to see how it plays out for the Undertaker and what path he chooses.

NFL Fumbles Away The Hall Of Fame Game

The NFL has canceled the Hall Of Fame game that was slated for Aug. 7 pitting the St. Louis Rams and the Chicago Bears. This will mark the first time in 45 years that this annual game will be missed. It's a financial blow to the Hall of Fame, which could lose about $1.5 million out of its $20 million annual operating budget. And it's a big loss for the community, which gets more than just a financial boost from the event. The community rallies around this event and the enshirement will take place on Aug. 6th, but the football game will be missing.

In my opinion the NFL fumbled this away and should be ashamed of itself for doing it to the loyal fans in Canton, Ohio. If the NFL wanted to play the game they could have even if it would have only been a lite scrimmage. The City of Canton and people deserve lot better from the NFL. They should hang their head in shame that they let this game get away from them. Canton has always been their for the NFL, but now the NFL tells Canton too bad.

Pittsburgh Pirates Making People Believe Once Again

For the last 18 years when we would talk about the Pittsburgh Pirates it was always in a negative since. Fast forward to 2011 and that is no longer the case anymore. With each comeback and win the Pittsburgh Pirates and their fans are starting to believe this team can do great things. The surprising Pirates, who lead the NL Central by a half-game over Milwaukee and 1½ games over St. Louis entering Wednesday’s games, also are enjoying improved results at the box office. This has made the Team President come out and say they may add players before and after the trading deadline.

This is not the same Pirates that we use to laugh of and made fun of anymore. Last season they only won 57 games. In 2011 they have won 50 already. It looks like the Pirates and the Brewers along with the Cardinals could battle for the National League Central Crown. If the Pirates do win the division this has to go down as the best sports story in 2011. Who would have guessed the Pirates could come so far so quickly. Maybe one guy did their manager Clint Hurdle. It seems he has a way of getting players to believe and win. Today, the Pirates did lose 3-1, and if the Brewers win they could find themselves in second place. No matter what who would have thought the Pirates would be where they are at today.

Is It Time To Pay Prince Fielder?

Prince Fielder of the Milwaukee Brewers is having another very good season, and one way or another it looks like someone will give him a big fat contract. My question is he worth a big fat contract. He does have many things going in his favor. He is only 27 years old and in seven seasons has hit over 200 home runs already. Prince is a good RBI man and a decent fielder as well. He has cut down on his strikeouts this season and he always walks a lot which you like to see.

All those things mentioned above seems to qualify him for a big fat contract in many GM's eyes. Being a Brewers fan I do love Prince Fielder a lot, but he is not worth the kind of money that he will be asking in the off-season. Now if he wants a less than the 150-180 million that has been thrown around then he would be a good pickup for a team.

The truth is Prince has one big drawback which makes me not want him long-term, and that is his struggles against top competition. This season Fielder has had chances to deliver in the clutch or make a statement against someone and he has not. Ryan Braun time after time this season has and that is why he got a long term deal from the Brewers. Stats are great Prince, but you need a guy to deliver in the clutch all the time and you have not proven that just yet.

We Will See If Baker Mayfield Was Worth The Money This Sunday Against Atlanta

This past Monday Night was very costly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they lost both wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Evans should be...
