Tony Romo Plays Hurt And Shut's His Critics Up

Last week everyone blamed Tony Romo for the Cowboys opening season loss, but those critics cannot have nothing but good things to say about Romo now. Playing with a fractured rib Romo was able to rally the Dallas Cowboys to a 27-24 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers on the road. Romo hit Jesse Holley on a 77-yard completion on the Cowboys’ first play of overtime that set up Dan Bailey’s winning 19-yard field goal. Just a week ago Romo was the goat, but now for awhile this should shut-up a few of his critics who questioned him and his ability to make plays.

Romo completed 20 of 33 passes for 345 yards and was in a lot of pain after the game. The San Francisco 49ers have to feel they let one get away. This is a game they probably should have won, but give the Cowboys and Romo credit for fighting back and getting the win in overtime. It's wins like this that can define your season. The next thing the Cowboys have to worry about is Romo's health for his next game.

Lexi Thompson Youngest To Win An LPGA Event At 16

Lexi Thompson does not seem to mind the spotlight much as she captured the Navistar LPGA Classic Presented by Monaco RV by five strokes. At just 16 years old she became the youngest to win an LPGA event on tour. It will be interesting to see how she does the rest of her career. Many times when players win at an early age they struggle to win again. I guess we will have to wait and see how it plays out for her though.

Pittsburgh And Syracuse Added To ACC

Well the ACC just got bigger and much better as they have added two more teams. The ACC announced Sunday that its council of presidents unanimously voted to accept the two schools from the Big East. The move increases the ACC’s membership to 14 and sends the Big East scrambling to replace two of its cornerstone programs. The Big East’s exit fee is $5 million, and schools wanting to leave must provide 27 months’ notice.

My take on the move is the ACC got much stronger and the Big East will be hurt by this move. The problem is we have two many teams leaving conferences and jumping to other conferences. The NCAA is going to eventually have to step in because it is not fair to the fans of these teams or the sport as a whole. Jumping from one conference to another for the best deal is not the way to do it. Something has to change or a team will move again when they find a better deal.

Boise State And Kellen Moore Roll Over Toledo 40-15

The one thing you can say about Boise State and their quarterback Kellen Moore they are very consistent. Last night, a upstart Toledo team was hoping for an upset, but Kellen More quickly dashed any hopes that was going to happen Friday Night. Moore threw for 455 yards and 5 touchdowns connecting on 32 of 42 passes help stop Toledo by a score of 40-15. The running game was not going well so Boise State took to the air and Moore did another fine job like he always done.

Moore will be in the Heisman Trophy running again this year and well deserved. His record as quarterback of Boise State has been just amazing. It's a shame that Boise State and Moore does not get more credit for what they have accomplished the last few years. I guess that's how it is in college football. Maybe the ultimate level of respect Boise State has gained is not a lot of teams want to schedule them anymore. This could be the year Boise State makes the National Championship you never know.
