This weekend the New York Yankees came to town, and the Milwaukee Brewers showed a gritty performance in a sweep of the Yankees. Last season Milwaukee got trounced in New York by the Yankees power and pitching, but this time it was the Brewers pitching and timely hitting that was the difference.
Milwaukee has not been at full strength for much of the season but are slowly getting some of their players back at just the right time. Many people write of the Brewers every year, but they keep battling and slowly moving up the standings.
I always tell people that the Brewers will be in the thick of the race because they do have very good pitching and gritty never say die hitters. When most teams give up Milwaukee feels they can come back against anyone. They proved that this weekend against the New York Yankees.
The Brewers realize it's a marathon and not a short race. As long as the Brewers can stay healthy, they will be looking to make the playoffs once again.
