The Los Angeles Laker fans wanted Phil Jackson, but ownership went a different direction. Did ownership make a mistake? Phil Jackson was the logical choice as he has proven to be a winner and probably could have won another NBA Championship with the group the Lakers have right now. Ownership though went a different direction which was kind of strange. In the end, this could be a big mistake for the Los Angeles Lakers. Yes, they hired Mike D’Anton I and he is an excellent choice, but not the one many people wanted.
Phil Jackson in my opinion would have been the best choice by far. He could work with Dwight Howard and get him to become a better player. Kobe Bryant knows Jackson real well and I think they could have worked well together, but we will not find out. If the Lakers win the NBA Championship this year no one will remember that they did not hire Phil Jackson. If the Lakers do not win a championship the backlash could last for a very long time that’s for sure.

With Alabama Losing Who Has The Inside Track To BCS Championship Game
After Alabama fell to Texas A&M there are many questions on how this will all play out now. Alabama was a lock, but with their loss it opens the door open for three teams. Oregon,Kansas State, and Notre Dame all have a shot at the big game now. Right now it looks like we could see Oregon and K-State in the BCS Championship if both teams win out. Where does this leave Notre Dame?
Notre Dame is a good team, but will have a hard time getting past Oregon or K-State to play in the BCS Championship game. The one thing that Notre Dame has going for them is they are a great drawing card for any Bowl game. That still will not be enough to get them in the BCS Championship game though. The BCS system is not a good way to do it and Notre Dame could go undefeated andand get nothing for it, but that’s how it works. Notre Dame will probably find out how Boise State has felt the last few years.
Even though Alabama has a loss they still could be the best team in college football. This is why we need a college football playoff. Hopefully, we will get it soon and not have to worry about teams getting screwed anymore.

Brady Quinn Gets His Chance To Be A Starter Again
Brady Quinn came out of Notre Dame with high hopes to be a star in the NFL, but so far that has not been the case. He struggled in Cleveland and did not get much of a chance in Denver. Fast forward and he gets another chance this time as the Kansas City Chiefs starter for the time being. Brady Quinn has talent, but for some reason things have never clicked for him. He is hoping that Kansas City is where the revival of his career happens to start.
For Quinn he has a tough order ahead of him as the Kansas City Chiefs have a lot of problems. This does not mean he cannot do it, but it will be an uphill battle for him. Quinn must be able to show some type of success or he could find himself back on the bench and he realizes this better then anyone else on the team.
Fans of the Chiefs will cheer him if he does well, but will also boo if he fails to deliver. The ball is in Brady Quinn's hands and his future in the NFL could be determine what he does in the next few games. Lance Armstrong Continues As He Loses His Tour De France Titles
Lance Armstrong is no longer a Tour De France champion as his free fall in the cycling world continues. Even the Tour would like Lance to pay back the prize money he has won. I will have to admit I really never thought it would come to this for Lance but it has. Once considered one of the greatest cyclist, now he will just be a distant memory to most people.
For Lance Armstrong his world has been crumbling around him. No one really could have expected this, but now Lance Armstrong has become a disgraced cyclist that sponsors loved along with the cycling community. That will not be the case anymore and that is a shame. Lance Armstrong chose not to do things the right way and now he is paying for it. It did not have to come to this, but now Lance Armstrong only has himself to blame and his life is in disarray because of it.

Can Derek Jeter Catch Pete Rose Hit Record?
I will be the first one to admit I never thought we would be talking about Derek Jeter and Pete Rose in the same breath, but we happen to be. Jeter has shown that he can still play the game of baseball at a very high level. As Jeter gets closer to 4,000 hits people will be talking about Pete Rose's hit record. By personal opinion this is one record that I think will never be broken.
Derek Jeter is 38 years old and besides shortstop there really is no other spot for Jeter. He would have to leave the New York Yankees to move to second base to extend his career. I do not look for Jeter to leave the Yankees. He wants to play his whole career as a New York Yankee, so beating the record that Rose has in place would be very tough. It is fun to talk about and watch, but it looks like Rose's hit record is safe for a number of years.

Tom Brady vs Joe Montana: Patriots Owner Likes Brady Over Montana
Now I will admit Tom Brady has done a lot on the football field as a quarterback, and his owner Robert Craft things he is the best ever. Comparing him to Joe Montana in my opinion is a stretch though. Out of college, no one would have thought that Tom Brady would accomplish all that he has so far in his NFL career. Let's look closer at both quarterbacks and see which quarterback is actually better.
Both quarterbacks have pluses and minuses against them that's for sure. The one area that I think Brady falls short compared to Montana is making the perfect pass when needed. It seemed Joe Montana was always able to put the ball where he needed. Brady at times does have a little difficulty doing this that's for sure. Joe Montana was undefeated in Super Bowls which should tell you how good he was. Brady can never claim that feat.
