Auburn Reeling From Accusations

The Auburn Football program finds itself defending itself as more and more accusations come out on a daily basis. Besides altered grades and paying players drugs were also said to be involved. Drug testing was skirted at Auburn during this title run which should not come as a shock. These accusations are indeed some very powerful ones and hopefully for the school they are not true. My take on this whole situation is in the end we will probably find out some of they will be true. Former players do not make up stories just to get their name in the press. Most likely what they are saying is probably the truth. If that is the case Auburn may be asked to vacate the title that they won in 2011. College Football is big business these days and schools and alumni understand this very well. Keeping players happy means they are likely to say longer. No matter what happens let's hope that all these things said are just lies. If they are not this will be a very ugly mess for the Auburn Tigers football program.

The Streak Ends What's Next For The Heat

The Miami Heat winning streak ended at the hands of the Chicago Bulls, but now it is time to look at the streak in perspective and what it means in the bigger picture. Winning that many games in a row is tough no matter how you look at it. Yes, they did beat some bad teams along the way, but they did beat some good ones as well. Being able to come back in some of those wins was just amazing. Lebron James is having another MVP season and win that award this year again. Now that the streak is over the Miami Heat need to look at the bigger picture and that is an NBA Championship. The streak was nice, but reality is if they do not win the championship the streak really did not mean much at all. Yes, the Miami Heat have the second longest winning streak in NBA history, but it will be a lost season for them. This is why the Miami Heat will have even added heat to win a championship this season. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle the rest of the season and the playoffs. The pressure of the streak is over, but another pressure takes it's place. Hopefully the Miami Heat will be able to handle it as without a championship it's a lost season for them.

Dwight Howard Returns To Orlando Is He Ready For The Response He Will Get

Dwight Howard is heading back to Orlando for the first time and the welcome he may get could just shock him. Howard eft on bad terms and we have learned that NBA Basketball fans do not take kindly to superstars jumping ship and landing somewhere else. If you do not believe me ask Lebron James how tough it was to play in Cleveland his first time back. Dwight better be prepared for the worst when he steps onto the court in Orlando. Maybe Dwight can talk to his old teammates, but he also burned some bridges there as well.

Howard was quoted in an article saying his teammates were people nobody really wanted. That was probably not the best thing to say in the press even if it was true. Many Orlando Magic players did not take kindly to those words and they will be out for revenge tonight. Even though ony one player will be in uniform I'm sure he is still not happy with Dwight Howard's comments. Howard still has not grown up yet and his comments continue to get him in trouble. It should be an interesting game in Orlando tonight that's for sure.

Kobe Tells SI Lakers Will Make Playoffs

Well you have to give Kobe Bryant credit he has a lot of confidence in himself and his team it seems. In an interview for Sports Illustrated Kobe Bryant tells the magazine that the Lakers will make the playoffs and he fears no team in the Western Conference. Is this idle talk or does Kobe really believe that his team is going to be that good later this season.

Now I will agree with Kobe Bryant that the Los Angeles Lakers will make the playoffs, but that is as far as my predicting will go with them. Yes, the Lakers have Kobe, but that is all really. Dwight Howard cannot be counted on and you do not know what you are getting with Steve Nash on a nightly basis. Howard disappears in games and when you get to the playoffs that cannot happen.

I admire Kobe for his confidence, but in reality they will be a first round loser plain and simple. You just cannot turn it on and off when you want in the NBA. There are two many good teams in the Western Conference and the Lakers are just average at best Kobe.

Will Danica Crack Under The Pressure Of Being On The Pole

Danica Patrick has done something no other woman has done and that is get the pole for The Daytona 500. Now you have to give her credit no easy task for anyone and she did it and now all the weight is on her shoulders. I'm sure Danica wants to prove it was not luck and be in contention at the end.

Pressure is something that is tough to measure. Certain people handle pressure better then others do. Danica will find out the pressue at a Daytona 500 is sky high. Expectations are high for Danica since she took the pole. Getting knocked out the race early will be a very big disappointment for her. If she can handle the pressure she should do great in The Daytona 500.

Should The Boston Celtics Trade Kevin Garnett?

The Boston Celtics have been getting older for a number of years now and it is time to rebuild them. Now they have a few trade pieces and one of them happens to be Kevin Garnett. Do you trade a guy like Kevin Garnett or give him the respect he deserves for all the years he has given your organization?

There are really no easy answers to this question. Yes, you want to give Kevin Garnett all the respect he deserves and to retire as a Celtic. On the other hand it is a business and you must look out for business first. It's  tough call and no matter how it plays out someone will win and someone will lose.

If I was the Boston Celtics I would keep KG and let him retire a Boston Celtic because that is the right thing to do. It may not help your organization right now, but down the line you will be glad you did. Keeping KG in Celtic green right now makes perfect sense, but will they listen or do what is best for business. I guess we will find out very soon.

Dwight Howard And Kobe Bryant Headed For A Rough Break-up

No matter what anyone tells you Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard will never be on the same page. According to various reports the relationship is rocky at best. Another report has Howard making fun of Kobe in the locker room during the All-Star game. Now I do not know if any of these reports are true, but one thing is for sure they have a bad vibe going on the court for sure.

Shaq and Kobe could not get along and I think they actually probably could have made it work. Howard and Bryant have no chance of making it work. I think the Los Angeles Lakers should consider moving Dwight Howard as quickly as they can. They still have a shot at the playoffs, but not as long as they are on the same team. Trading Kobe is not an option, so I would move Dwight Howard.

For the Lakers there is no guarantee that he will resign with the Lakers, so trading him is the only option left. If the Lakers want any chance of making the playoffs they must break up this marriage now that was doomed from the start. Kobe and Dwight are just not going to work and the writing is on the wall.

Derek Jeter Eyeing Opening Day Start

Derek Jeter is expecting to be in the starting lineup coming Opening Day 2013, and I would not bet against him. The Yankees captain has the willpower and dedication to get that done no matter what the odds are. Jeter has been one of the best Yankees ever to play and he may be on the downswing of his career, but he is still a valuable contributor to the team.

Even though he had ankle surgery look for the Yankees captain on the field when they say play ball. He has been working hard to get back and no matter his age of 38, he will be a vital part of the Yankees success this year. His biggest challenge is to get back into baseball shape and the sky is the limit for him after that. He will play a limited number of games this spring as the Yankees do not want to push him to much during spring training. Look for Derek Jeter at a ballpark near you soon.
