Jeff Gordon Holds Off Jimmie Johnson To Grab 85th Win

Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are teammates, but winning races never gets old as Gordon bested his teammate for his 85th win in Atlanta. Johnson did his best to prevent Gordon from winning, but the Gordon had other ideas and took the checkered flag for his 85th win. Johnson and Gordon could be the two who battle for the Championship you never know. No matter what Gordon is back and a force again in Nascar Racing.

NHL Hockey Could Be Big Winner If NBA Strike Drags On

No matter what anyone tell you NHL Hockey still struggles to draw in viewers on a consistent basis, but that could change if the NBA strike drags on. Most people think that the NBA season could be canceled and if it is that would be a boom for the NHL. Basketball fans need a sports fix and the most logical choice will be the NHL.

Some will not turn to the NHL, but I think more and more people will as they want something to watch. The NHL product has gotten better and this would be a chance for them to grasp a wider audience who hate strikes. If the NBA strike goes for a long time NHL could get the revival in the states that they have wanted for a very long time. It will all hedge on the length of the NBA strike. If it goes a long time the NHL will benefit the most that's for sure.

College Football Week One Notes

With the first weekend of College Football almost over lets take a look back at what we have learned so far about teams and the season. One of the first things we learned was LSU's Les Miles can coach with the best of them. Even with all the off the field problems he got his Tigers ready to play and beat Oregon by a score of 40-27.

Then we have Notre Dame who seems to have a quarterback issue right now. They started Dayne Crist who struggled in the first half and got Notre Dame in a big hole against South Florida. Tommy Rees came in the second half and almost rallied Notre Dame to the win, but the Irish fell 23-20. It will be interesting to see who starts for Notre Dame in their next game.

Boise State is a team everyone wants to hate it seems, but they keep winning and this weekend opener was no exception. They easiy handled Georgia by a 35-21 score. It seems no matter what happens new players are added into the system and they keep rolling along. I guess nothing changes at Boise State except the names. They always say winning breeds winning.

We Will See If Baker Mayfield Was Worth The Money This Sunday Against Atlanta

This past Monday Night was very costly for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they lost both wideouts Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Evans should be...
