Justin Verlander Roaring Tiger This Season

For a little while there was a question who was the best pitcher in the American League, but that has all been sorted out. Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander is head and shoulders better than everyone else. Verlander has a 24-5 record and has won 12 straight decisions. He is one of the main reasons the Detroit Tigers are in the conversation about teams that could be in the World Series. He became the first pitcher to win 12 straight starts since Minnesota's Johan Santana in 2004, according to STATS LLC. Verlander has a 2.28 ERA with 91 strikeouts in 87 innings over his streak.

Verlander has the most wins in a major league season since Arizona's Randy Johnson in 2002. With another victory, he would become the winningest pitcher in a season since Oakland's Bob Welch went 27-6 in 1990. What's next for the Tiger's ace? He would like to play the first playoff series in front of the home fans. The way he is pitching he may play a lot of games in front of the home fans.

Inside The NFL Week 2 What We Have Seen Is Shocking

Well week two has arrived Inside The NFL and many different things have shocked this blogger that's for sure. Let's start with those loveable Detroit Lions that we all use to make fun of. The Lions are now 2-0 after dismantling the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 48-3. The Indianapolis Colts played without Peyton Manning for a second week in a row and they looked like a team that may not win until Manning gets back.

We also have Tom Brady who always seems to perform well no matter who he is playing against. The Patriots took care of the mistake prone San Diego Chargers once again. The Texans and Saints continue to roll along as well. Cam Newton has had back to back 400 yard passing games, but have two losses to show for it though.

As we enter week three teams that are 0-2 need a win. The Colts and Dolphins are two teams that better get better real quick. If not they may find themselves looking at some changes and quickly. In Miami the most likely change will be their coach. While in Indianapolis they must look to replace Peyton Manning, especially if he is not ready anytime soon. Week three should be very interesting and you never know what it may bring.

Tony Romo Plays Hurt And Shut's His Critics Up

Last week everyone blamed Tony Romo for the Cowboys opening season loss, but those critics cannot have nothing but good things to say about Romo now. Playing with a fractured rib Romo was able to rally the Dallas Cowboys to a 27-24 overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers on the road. Romo hit Jesse Holley on a 77-yard completion on the Cowboys’ first play of overtime that set up Dan Bailey’s winning 19-yard field goal. Just a week ago Romo was the goat, but now for awhile this should shut-up a few of his critics who questioned him and his ability to make plays.

Romo completed 20 of 33 passes for 345 yards and was in a lot of pain after the game. The San Francisco 49ers have to feel they let one get away. This is a game they probably should have won, but give the Cowboys and Romo credit for fighting back and getting the win in overtime. It's wins like this that can define your season. The next thing the Cowboys have to worry about is Romo's health for his next game.
