Well it finally happened the Milwaukee Brewers are World Series Champions after 57 long years. Being a Brewers fan can be a tough road to walk, but through the 57 years I would not trade anything along this journey. I learned about the Brewers when they started out as the Seattle Pilots and I loved the name. I made it my team and I will admit the move and name change caught me off-guard, but I stuck it out.
Many years I went through losing seasons after losing seasons, but my brothers asked me why I didn’t just throw the towel in. It was simple the Milwaukee Brewers were more then just a baseball team they were family. Year after year hope was high in spring training too only see another losing season or disappointments enter each baseball season.
Why did I stay? Every year my mom would take me to games in Cleveland, Ohio to watch them play. I got to meet guys like Gorman Thomas, Sixto Lezcano, Robin Yount, and George Scott. As a young kid I would ask for autographs and the players were so nice always giving up their time for me. Even if it was just to talk for a few minutes they did not mind. They became my extended family in a sense. For some people that can be hard to understand about a baseball team that you cheer for on a daily basis.
As the years went by and the Brewers lost the 82 World Series I honestly thought we would never make another World Series. Slowly though through all the losses I could see slow improvement and I had hoped. Even though many times my hope was dashed I stayed strong and cheered them on. Many players came through the organization that have a special place in my heart. Players like Greg Vaughn, Billy Hall, Rob deer just to mention a few. There are so many players I loved watching I can’t name them all right now.
As the 2000’s hit I could see more and more success happening and the last decades have been great for us Brewers fans. Last night showed us every win and every loss we endured was worth it all. The Milwaukee Brewers are world champions and they earned it. Milwaukee was the best baseball team in 2026 and no one can take it away from them or the fans.
This substack will be used to highlight all things Milwaukee Brewers in the future as I have many stories to tell along my journey as a Brewers fan. I hope everyone joins me on this journey and I want to join others on their journey as sportswriters so drop me a line so I can check out your work as well. My email is always open at ken7700@gmail.com. I will end it with GO BREWERS!!!!!!!
