NFL Draft Must See Television Anymore

The NFL Draft many years ago was really not a big thing, but that has sure changed. The NFL Draft is now on prime time and the fans love it. This years draft though may not have as much excitement as past drafts, but you never know. The Colts and Redskins already have their picks they have decided on, so this means the third pick could be interesting to say the least. Many people do not know what the Minnesota Vikings will do or even if they will keep it. Many teams are trying to move up in the draft and that always makes it exciting for the fans.

Andrew Luck will go no.1 and Robert Griffin III will go second, but after that it is anyone's guess. The NFL has marketed the Draft very well and with great college players coming out year after year look for it to grow. The excitement this year will probably be picks 3-15 and any number of teams could move up and down the board. It will be interesting to see what teams do and who they are willing to trade to get the player that they want.

Dwight Howard Will Have Back Surgery Done For Season

The Orlando Magic got the kinda of news they did not want to hear as their superstar in the middle Dwight Howard will be done for the season. This is huge for the Magic who rely on Howard for many things, but now they must play without him in the playoffs. Orlando all season has shown they can play well, but have never put it together when they really need too. Now without Dwight Howard everyone must step up and that includes his replace Glen "Big Baby" Davis who has been play well as of late.

Others on Orlando such as Jameer Nelson and Jason Richardson will also need to play big roles. Ryan Anderson and J.J. Redick must provide offense in big numbers for the Magic. It will be interesting to see how deep in the playoffs that the Magic can go without Howard. It could be one and done for Orlando unless they come together in a big way. Only time will tell what will happen, but with playoffs approaching fast we will know real soon.

Is Andrew Luck A Franchise Quarterback?

Andrew Luck has been told he will be the Indianapolis Colts No.1 pick, but is he a franchise quarterback the Colts need. That question is a tough one to answer for a number of reasons. Andrew Luck has all the tools to be great in the league, but so did many other quarterbacks coming into the league. Another thing that Andrew Luck will have going against him is he will always be in Peyton Manning's shadow no matter what he does. The only chance he will he will have to escape it is win multiple Super Bowls and that is many years away even if he wins any at all. The Colts are not very good and I think Luck will have a hard time to find his groove. Yes, Luck is a franchise quarterback, but the question is will he have enough talent around him ever to see that happen.

Pregnancy

Guest post of the week by Val Flores My sister is pregnant and she is talking about how all she wants to do is lay on the couch and watch TV. She keeps feeling guilty about this, but I keep reminding her that she is growing a human and she should be proud of that. Even is she does nothing but lay around all day, she is still accomplishing so much! She is doing much more work than anyone I know. I told her to go to direct-tv.com because there are so many more channels she can get with that. I am really trying to encourage her to just relax and not worry about doing everything that she used to do. Things are going to have to change when she has a newborn, so she needs to get used to being around the house. She is the type of person that likes to be going somewhere all the time, but I don't think she will be able to do that with a newborn. I am hoping that she will realize this and take it easy after he is born.

Dwight Howard Does He Really Want Stan Van Gundy Gone?

It seems everyday or every other day another story comes out of Orlando about the Dwight Howard and Stan Van Gundy saga. In fact, the newest rumor that was shot down was that Howard call the Magic owner and told him he will not play for Gundy anymore. This is a departure from what both Van Gundy and Howard agreed to in a recent meeting. Howard is out right now with a bad back and this news came as a shock, but not to Orlando fans.

Orlando have been dealing with stories like this most of the season and this is nothing new. Over the last few years stories have trickle out about this rocky relationship. This is probably just another installment in that relationship. I look for Orlando to get bounced from the playoffs quickly and then Stan Van Gundy will be fired. I do not see any way they can bring him back into the fold with all the stories going around.

Pat Summitt Steps Aside As Vols Coach And Leaves A Special Legacy

When you talk about Tennessee Vols women basketball the name Pat Summitt will be forever linked to it. Today, she stepped down as head coach and will be a special adviser to the program. Summit leaves with eight National Titles to her credit and over 1,000 wins as a head coach.

Pat Summitt diagnosis with early onset dementia-Alzheimer's type and everyone knew it would be just a matter of time before she stepped down. Her legacy will be one of a great coach that did things the right way on and off the court. She molded young ladies into leaders and taught them a lot. She will be missed by her players, but it is good that she will still be around it. Pat Summitt was one of the good ones and will be missed as a coach, but most of all as a mentor on a daily basis to her layers.
